Acharacle Bike Hub
We’re really excited as we’ve been successful in getting funding from Cycling Scotland to get this project off the ground!
Would you like to try out an e-bike?
For a small donation to cover running costs (suggested donation £25/month or £10/week), we’re offering loans of our new e-bikes to Community Company members! We have some accessories (lights, locks and helmets) that you can borrow along with the bikes, if you haven’t got your own.
We are also holding bike maintenance sessions with local expert Chris from Lochaber Environmental Group, both for e-bikes and ordinary bikes at the Community Centre in Acharacle. Our monthly bike maintenance sessions are on every first Saturday of the month:
Next bike maintenance sessions:
Saturday 9th September 2023 11.00-13.00
Saturday 7th October 2023 11.00-13.00
If you can’t manage daytime, get in touch and we’ll see if we can do evening ones too.
We‘re also looking for volunteers to help look after the bikes between being loaned out, to allow the smooth running of the project and to make sure the bikes are in the best condition. If you have a bit of spare time to help please get in touch. You don’t need to be an expert as you can join our maintenance sessions to get your knowledge up to speed! A complete tool set and bike stand is available at the centre for any volunteers to use to repair their own bikes as well as the e-bikes.
The funding from Cycling Scotland also means we have been able to purchase a bike shelter to keep your bike safe and dry when visiting the Community Centre.
Please get in touch if you’re interested in borrowing a bike, joining a maintenance session or helping to look after the bikes.
